Twitter is testing a new feature on Apple devices that will allow users to watch YouTube videos from Twitter, without leaving the app. “Starting today on iOS, we’re exploring how to watch YouTube videos directly on your Home timeline, without leaving a chat on Twitter,” Twitter said of its official support account.
From now on, Twitter redirects users to the YouTube app when they click on a video. They should leave the Twitter app in the background. With the new feature, videos will play right inside the Twitter app, eliminating the need to switch apps. Check out the tweet below.
Twitter is working on improving the media sharing experience
Twitter has also been developing ways to share media through the app. The platform also announced two new features last year to be tested.
First of all, this is a feature of both Android and iOS apps that will allow users to see the full size of the media in their own times, instead of having to maximize the full version after a click. This will allow users to scroll through the feed to view the media as uploaded.
“Now check it out on Android and iOS: if you send a single image, how the image came from the Twitter designer and what it will look like in a timeline –– bigger and better,” Twitter said.
The app also worked with the ability to allow users to share 4K photos on Android and iOS. A feature previously set by the ‘Data Usage’ section, will allow Twitter users to share high quality 4K images.
