In months after trying various ways to allow their creator and influencers to monetize their content, Twitter has introduced a new ‘Tip Jar’ icon on its platform.
The micro-blog platform has been trying to bring various features to its users to encourage them to bring influential content to the platform for them to access. Recent features include newsletters, and Super Follow.
Mashable India reported that Twitter has introduced a new feature called the ‘Tip Jar’ icon (which looks like money and will be integrated with many payment services including Patreon, PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App) in its user profiles. The same feature is expected to be available on Twitter only ‘Spaces’ that will compete with the ‘Clubhouse’ chat app.
When the feature is installed, the Tip Jar icon will allow users to monetize their content on Twitter Spaces and Twitter by collecting tips from users.
The micro-blogging site will still make this feature legal and according to Mashable India, it is not yet clear who will be allowed to install the Tip Jar button on their profile and Spaces. However, it is assumed that users will have a certain number of followers to use this feature.
