Sony will launch the new Xperia series smartphone on Wednesday, April 14. Only an online event will be available for streaming on the product’s YouTube channel at 1 pm IST. The company is expected to launch the Xperia 1 III, Xperia 10 III and a new integrated phone. The Xperia 10 III was recently spotted on the Geekbench list.
The company’s new compact will bring back the desire from the Xperia Z compact series. The smaller smartphone form will address the need for smaller, easier-to-manage devices such as the iPhone 12 Mini. Here’s what we know about telephones so far.
Xperia 1 IIII, Xperia 10 III, Xperia Compact phone: What to Expect
The Sony Xperia 1 III is expected to feature a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display in terms of leaks and will have a smaller bezel and chin design. A metal frame on the sides is also expected with a glass panel on the back. With the camera, the Xperia 1 III is expected to acquire ZEISS optics. The main phone is expected to unlock with a Snapdragon 888 chipset up to 12GB or 16GB.
The Xperia 10 III on each list can include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 chipset or Snapdragon 765G and 6GB RAM. It is interesting to note that the brand is opting for the old 765G instead of the new Snapdragon 690 5G. The last-gen Xperia 10 II also had a 600-series chip with SD 665. Sony may be planning to offer more performance with this new device, which could lead to higher prices.
For now, the Xperia Compact phone may come with a smaller 5.5-inch display. Nothing more is known about the phone. However, some reports have suggested that, unlike previous Xperia Z series devices, the new ones will not be the best phones, but rather budget devices powered by the Snapdragon 480 chipset. It is unknown whether this small device will roll out Japan.
