The makers of the Realme Smartphone on Wednesday said they expected to receive a 10-15% share of the 4G handheld unit with prices of between ₹ 10,000- ₹ 20,000 units at the launch of 8 new devices.
“With the launch of the realme 8 series, we aim to penetrate deeper into the G 10,000 to ₹ 20,000 range within the 4G range, and catch new users across the country.
“We plan to increase our market share in this category to 10 to 90 percent with the launch of the 8 series,” said Realme Vice President and Chief Executive Officer (India and Europe) Madhav Seth said in addition to launching the new series.
The company has introduced two new models, the Realme 8 Pro, the first smartphone with a 108 quad camera and the Realme 8 with a 64 MP AI quad camera.
Three versions of the Realme 8, which comes with the Mediatek Helio processor, which is priced in the range of 14,999 and 16,999 will also start selling on the same day.
According to market research firm IDC, Realme recorded a year-end growth rate of 19 per cent in the smartphone category by 2020 with 19.2 million telecommunications delivery becoming a 13 per cent market share in India.
Seth said the company wants to sell 25-30 million smartphones by 2021.
