Apple announced at its last month’s ‘Spring Loaded’ event that the new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models now come with the M1 chipset, announced for MacBooks and Mac Mini last year. For both, the highlight was the 12.9-inch iPad Pro which is also the first company to incorporate mini-LED display technology. However, with the new display, processor and a host of other features, the tablet will definitely cost more. And as expensive as it is, the cost of upgrading the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is also expensive. So much so that you can buy a new iPhone 12 Mini at that price.
As mentioned by macrumors, if you do not have the new AppleCare + Pro Pro 12.9-inch, the company can charge you $ 699 (approximately ₹ 51,800). This is also the first price of the iPhone 12 Mini in the US. Price was added to the iPad Service and the company’s Repair Chart just after the iPad Pro orders went live.
It’s also worth adding that the $ 699 repair cost of the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro is just $ 100 (approximately, 7,400) less than the cost of the new 11-inch new Pro Pro introduced separately.
However, this cost is when you do not have AppleCare +. In case you have it, the service fee will be only $ 49 (approximately ₹ 3,600). However, you will have to pay $ 149 (approximately ₹ 11,000) for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro Apple Care +. The 11-inch version of Apple Care + costs $ 129 (approximately ₹ 9,500). Guessing the high cost of 12.9-inch model service is due to the new mini-LED display.
In India, the iPad repair page shows ₹ 3,900 service charges for all eligible iPads if you have AppleCare +. However, you will have to pay ₹ 2,107 for AppleCare + for the 12.9-inch model.
