Apple iOS 14.5 update to unlock new 5G feature on iPhone 12

Apple is releasing iOS 14.5 updates for all iPhones that can access the 5G network. A new feature will begin to be released for iPhone 12 users who will update to the latest iOS 14.5.

This new update will enable the latest generation of iPhone 12 to access 5G network on both e-SIM and virtual SIM. Previously, using two numbers on the iPhone 12 would lock the user into an LTE service.

The advent of the iPhone XS Max and XR were the first iPhones to enable the use of two numbers on one device with a different function and personal line.

Apple has also upgraded the ‘Smart Data Mode “for the iPhone 12.” Hidden options in the ‘Cellular’ section of the ‘Settings’ menu that allows the phone to switch automatically between 5G and LTE depending on which one has the best service at the moment. IOS 14.5, should provide better battery life and performance than before.

According to a MacRumors report, the TG Mobile 5G independent network is available for iPhone users downloading iOS 14.5. In the same menu as ‘Smart Data Mode’, ‘T-Mobile’ customers can now switch to the new fast5G Standalone” mode. Prior to this, ‘T-Mobile’ users could not use 5G without relying on LTE to some extent.
