Apple today updated Apple Maps with the COVID-19 vaccine from VaccineFinder, a free, online service developed by Boston Children’s Hospital that provides access to the latest vaccines for those eligible to providers and pharmacies across the US. Users can find nearby COVID-19 vaccines from the Search bar on Apple Maps by selecting the COVID-19 vaccines from the Find Nearby menu or by asking Siri, “Where can I find the COVID vaccine?”
The Apple Maps location card for each vaccination site will include working hours, address, phone numbers, and a link to the provider’s website, where Map users can learn more about available terms and bookmarks. The first release includes more than 20,000 sites, Apple will add more sites in the coming weeks.
In accordance with the data provided by VaccineFinder, health care providers, labs, or other businesses may submit information about COVID-19 testing or vaccination sites on the Apple Business Register page. Once verified, Apple may show details about testing or vaccination sites to people who use Apple services such as Apple Maps.
