Installing update
Microsoft has released a new pre-build of Windows 10 20H1 under the number 19013 for members of the Windows Insider program using the Fast and Skip Ahead channels.

Full build number: 19013.1.vb_release.191025-1609. As you can see, the assembly belongs to the vb_release branch, not rs_prerelease. VB is derived from Vibranium, another code name for Windows 10 20H1.

They remind you that the development of this functional update is at an early stage, so the current builds may contain rather unpleasant errors. If you need more stability, They recommend switching to the Slow (Late Access) or Release Preview channels.
Innovations
More kaomoji

In Windows 10 (version 1903), Microsoft updated the Emoji Panel, which is called by the key combination WIN +  or WIN +, adding kaomoji and special characters to it. Kaomoji are Japanese emoticons made up using a combination of different characters.

Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) 2 will now return unused Linux RAM

Previously, the amount of RAM for the WSL 2 virtual machine increased according to needs but did not decrease if the memory is no longer used. This change will allow you to return unused Linux virtual machine memory to Windows, which will reduce memory consumption.
Other updates for insiders
Available PoTheyrToys v0.12

Microsoft has released a new version of PoTheyrToys under number 0.12. It is available on GitHub. The company received many excellent reviews and suggestions from the community, and thanks for that.

The new version includes a feature called PoTheyrRename, which allows you to quickly rename multiple files, improve FancyZones and support for a dark theme.

Microsoft has heard reviews about the dependence of the “Phone Screen” function on Bluetooth Low Energy. The company worked closely with Samsung to provide more convenient work with the function on all Windows 10 PCs, eliminating its dependence on the role of a peripheral device, which expands the overall coverage of the function.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 was the first device to support this feature. After receiving positive reviews, Microsoft has included this feature on the Galaxy Fold, S10, S10 + and S10e smartphones. To use it, you need to update the software of supported Samsung devices to the latest version, which includes the “Connect with Windows” function. Now the function will also be supported on Samsung Galaxy A30s, A50s, and A90 smartphones, and in the coming months, the company will add support for other devices.

Along with this, Microsoft removes the option to connect using Bluetooth. If you used the “Phone Screen” function via Bluetooth and you have a smartphone that does not yet support the “Connect with Windows” function, the “Phone Screen” function will automatically disappear from the “Your Phone” application. The company recommends that you disconnect your devices in the Bluetooth settings on your PC and Android so that you do not have a connection that is currently not in use.

Requirements for the function “Phone Screen”:

A smartphone running Android 9.0 or later.
The Android smartphone must be connected to the same network as the PC.
Preview of new DirectX 12 features

In the latest 20H1 builds, you can watch the new DirectX 12 features, including DirectX Raytracing (level 1.1), Mesh Shader, and Sampler Feedback. A more detailed explanation of each feature can be found in the DirectX development team blog post.
